"Fabulous book! Why haven't I seen this book 20 years ago? I read all kinds of new age and self-help, but this book gets down to the real meat of the matter in a format that is easy to understand. This should be the first book you read if you want to manifest your desires."

The Secret of the Ages Robert Collier 9781618953643 Books Reviews
- There are many law of attraction books. I’ve not read them all. But of those I’ve read this book stands together with Charles Haanel’s The Master Key System as the best. Buy these two and you probably don’t need to read any more. For a very deep explanation of the principles, all of which are given by Jesus Christ throughout the Bible, but you need an explanation of them, read Thomas Troward’s excellent lectures.
The principles are clearly and persuasively stated. Also worthwhile are Genevieve Behrend’s Your Invisible Power, and Earl Nightingales The Strangest Secret.
Congratulations are also in order for and it’s app. I don’t own a but read most books on my IPad using the App. This book is well formatted, and the marvellous thing about the App is that one can highlight, change the font and its size, and use the Notes and Flashcard functions to review highlighted passages. With few exceptions, I now prefer to read works on my app on the IPad. Congratulations ! - I believe in miracles. Jesus did not sow wheat and not kneaded bread, or caught the fish, when he fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and five fish. This is my comment to the review of Mr Carpenter about Collier's book. Mr Carpenter dont believe in miracles; he believes his work. According to his faith, so it is with him. Mr Carpenter views are in contradiction with Robert Collier's sayings.
In Matthew 2122, we read " if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
For many years, I asked myself believe in what? In God?
Recently, the answer comes JUST BELIEVE. Belief is enough! Belief is the miracle, the magic, the secret. The object of belief DOES NOT MATTER!
When we learn a technique to healing, to attract, to be rich, to cocreate, it is not the technique that matters IT IS OUR BELIEF in the technique! When those authors speak about "energy", " frequency" , they are speaking about belief. Because belief is FEELING and feeling is frequency, energy. If I praise, I feel good, grateful - and what is this good feeling but belief!?
So, if I BELIEVE, I will receive WHATEVER I ask for, because belief itself gives me it!
The implications of this are limitless. Mr Cameron beileves is faith + work that works. And he is right, only because that is his belief. We humans believe old age is a fact. And it is. Of course Peter had to jump from the boat to be able to walk on water. But what decided him to jump? Faith.
Belief is the miracle! Not the belief in this or that, but the very belief! And how could we have belief? We already have tons of beliefs!
When I say " I believe in miracles", what I'm saying is " to believe is the miracle!" - I first read this book as a sixteen year-old boy, a family friend gave it to my parents, who never read it. I read anything as a kid, but I was a kid - it didn't take back then. Decades later, I came back to it after reading many of the modern books on the Law of Attraction and self-empowerment, but this book, for me, is the granddaddy of them all. Especially for those who might resent things like "The Secret" (which I liked) due to it's seeming lack of regard for God, feeling that because the others leave God out of the equation, that the words are somehow "flying in the face of God"
The Secret of the Ages incorporates spirituality (the Bible), and helps us to understand that in Christianity at least, we were taught the "secret" by Jesus Himself. In other words, it corroborates the whole concept of the Law of Attraction relative to God and the incredible power that we, as part of His Creation, were given if, we could grasp the true meaning of faith. A difficult thing to do in the context of being part of a society that is, for a lack of a better term, judgmental.
This was the book that Rhonda Byrne (The Secret) first read, which was given to her by her daughter. All of the modern-day motivational speakers and teachers make reference to many of the old books, but do not necessarily promote them, for obvious reasons.
I highly recommend The Secret of the Ages for those who wish to tie spirituality in with the Law of Attraction, Robert Collier, had a way of making the reader feel how much he wants us to "get it", it is knowledge, enlightenment, and wisdom doled out as an impassioned plea for us to understand how truly gifted all of us really are, and if you let it all sink in, you will grow from the experience.
And do not let the fact that it's nearly one-hundred years old dissuade you, because it is from another period, it's not as focused on just "getting a bunch of stuff", it's more than that, and it proves that though we've come a long way from a technological standpoint, we haven't grown much as humans in our quest for happiness and security. Read it, it's well worth the investment. - If you want to know the REAL SECRET to abundance and achievement, you'll eat up Robert Collier's book. Much of what has come out on the subject SINCE this book was written is drawn from his wisdom. Wallace D. Wattles wrote this first that thoughts are things and we become what we think about. You really CAN'T afford the luxury of a negative thought! Collier expounds on these ideas and shares his insights in this wonderful book.
- Excellent overall and a better definition of Visualization than most books on the subject. I found myself underlining about half of the book on my Fire, and agreeing with much of it. I've even begun to put the thesis to practical use (again) and it seems to be working overall. I still disagree with one premise but find the book relatively accurate. It is a quick read and very easy to understand.
- Fabulous book! Why haven't I seen this book 20 years ago? I read all kinds of new age and self-help, but this book gets down to the real meat of the matter in a format that is easy to understand. This should be the first book you read if you want to manifest your desires.
